Ancient Wisdom and Modern Design – Chris Explores the Secrets of the Pyramids

This morning’s meeting featured an engaging presentation from Chris of Crosby Granger Architects, who delivered the second instalment of his talk on the Pyramids of Giza. Building on his previous discussion, he explored how maths, science, time, and astronomy played a role in their design—offering fascinating insights into the architectural knowledge of the ancient Egyptians.

Chris highlighted the mathematical precision of the Great Pyramid, explaining how its height and base dimensions appear to align with key geometric and planetary measurements. He drew comparisons to Leonardo da Vinci’s studies of proportion, showing how ancient and Renaissance architects alike sought to understand the relationship between human design and the universe. He also introduced theories suggesting that the pyramids may encode knowledge of the Earth’s circumference and even the speed of light—provoking plenty of discussion among members!

Alongside this thought-provoking presentation, it was a productive meeting for the group. We welcomed 21 members and two guests, exchanged 12 referrals, and saw over £12,000 in business generated from past recommendations. Another great session demonstrating the strength of our local business network.

We look forward to seeing you all next week!
