Member’s Spotlight – Mathew Ellwood
We had an interesting 10 minute presentation from this handsome chap; Chartered Accountant Mathew Ellwood from MBE Accountancy in Windermere.
Most of us have no real understanding of the history of money or it’s development within social and economic systems that provide at least one of the functions of money. Mathew explained how money works by trading wealth indirectly; not directly as with barter and how other societies have used alternative methods. Also how this is tied in with modern developments such as Bit Coin and Cryptocurrency. Fascinating stuff Mathew, thanks for enlightening us!
