We had another productive Friday morning at InGroup Kendal, with 17 members and 2 guests joining us to network, share insights, and support local business growth. Five referrals were exchanged, and over £1,800 in new business was reported—further proof that strong local connections lead to tangible results.

Our 10-minute presentation this week came from MB Digital, led by team members Ben and Dan, who gave us a detailed look at the behind-the-scenes work that’s helping improve their IT service delivery and client experience.

Since joining the business earlier this year, Dan has taken the lead on several technical developments aimed at improving efficiency and customer support. A key focus has been automating the deployment of new computers, allowing MB Digital to set up devices quickly, remove unnecessary software, and fully customise systems with just a few steps. This has significantly reduced setup time, giving the team more space to focus on supporting clients directly.

Another major upgrade has been the introduction of a centralised knowledge base, or internal wiki, which documents processes, software configurations, and client-specific solutions. This not only streamlines internal training and support, but also ensures that knowledge is retained and shared across the team. A simplified version is also available for customers on support contracts, giving them easy access to troubleshooting tips and guides when they need them most.

In addition, the team has launched a secure, cloud-based file-sharing platform, making it easier to deliver important documents and software to clients without relying on email. Everything is linked through Microsoft authentication, ensuring data remains protected and access is tightly controlled.

To round off the improvements, Dan and Ben have created a private video knowledge base—short walkthroughs to support the written documentation, ensuring that even complex tasks can be understood quickly by team members or customers.
