Services offered

Founders Chris, Chloe and Paul have over 60 years’ experience of tackling complex briefs. From conservation work on listed buildings, to pioneering modern architecture and master-planning. Our clients choose us because we know our stuff. And we love nothing more than being on site, getting our hands dirty to make even the tiniest of details shine.

Client numbers?

From our inception to January 2018 we have had 293 live projects with an ongoing list of approximately 50 active clients/jobs (correct at March 2023).

What sort of clients do you want to appeal to and do you have any notable clients?

By combining our unique skill sets, Crosby Granger Architects provides a resource of professionals with proven experience within sectors that require specific specialisms, either because they involve significant historic building stock, or very specific technical knowledge in new design, its context or both.

We are seeking to expand on our recent success on projects from Grade 1 listed castles, monuments and country houses to lakeside yacht clubs in the new Lake District World Heritage Site, new vernacular buildings in the Wasdale valley, new student residences in Newcastle and schools in central London.

What are the jobs/commissions you have been most proud of and why?

Muncaster Castle, Levens Hall, Water End House and Damson Fell, all with direct appointment to the private owners, Furness Abbey and Piel Castle (Historic England). They reinforce our enviable reputation in the care of historic fabric and new design.

What inspires this member in their business?

Seeing our practice grow, going from strength to strength year on year. All the while, we improve the lives of our clients and secure each buildings legacy for years to come.

What do your clients say about you?

… the material submitted is very comprehensive, exceptionally well-documented and professionally executed by a well-known conservation architect, so I generally have no objections.
Senior Listed Buildings Officer & Building Conservation Officer – 04 May 2016

… an amazing amount of work has actually been done as part of this project and to an excellent quality – for which you and your team are to be congratulated.
Client – 08 January 2018

The collaboration between architect and contractor has been exceptional and resulted in a restoration of the highest quality.
Client November 2017

It was therefore such a pleasure to listen to you explaining what you see for the site, and the sorts of designs you have already thought about and come up with. It’s a delight to hear an architect who not only really believes in what he is saying and describing, but then actually puts it into action as well; and it was quite obvious that this belief and desire was coming from you, not just because your client has asked you to do something and you were trying to ‘sell it’. I’m always very appreciative of those who carry through the strength of their convictions, whatever they are – not just in the planning process.

I said to the Planner afterwards how great it was to hear a man ‘on top of his game’. She replied that there were some architects like that “but not enough”.’
